Using the Automatic Schedule Control

Turn the automatic schedule on or off, select heat sources and adjust target temperature to get the most out of your Mixergy cylinder.

When setting up your Mixergy system, you choose whether to enable Automatic Schedule Control. This feature uses a machine learning algorithm to optimise your schedule based on your hot water usage. If your system is linked to a smart tariff, it will also consider energy pricing to help you save money and use energy more efficiently.

  • Automatic Schedule Control options
    • Off: No automatic adjustments. You must manually set your hot water schedule.
    • Grid Assistance Only: Requires a manual schedule but enables Grid Assistance, a Demand-Side-Response (DSR) feature that helps balance the electrical grid by adjusting power usage when needed.
    • Standard (with Grid Assistance): A balanced approach that aims to save money while ensuring you have enough hot water.
    • Economy (with Grid Assistance): Maximises savings but comes with a higher risk of running out of hot water if your usage is higher than expected.
  • Automatic Heat Source: This is the heat source that the automatic scheduler would use. This is likely to be the default heat source, but if there is a custom heat source you would prefer, this can be selected here.
  • Adjust Target Temperature: Allows the Auto Schedule Control to reduce the cylinder target temperature to improve the efficiency of indirect heating. It will only do this if an indirect heat source is selected, and the target temperature reduction will be limited to ensure a good hot water temperature is maintained.
Grid Assistance: A Demand-Side-Response (DSR) feature that helps balance the electrical grid by adjusting power usage when needed. Grid Assistance is required  to enable Automatic Schedule Control. Find out more about Grid Assistance.
