If your Mixergy app doesn’t connect to the tank, or the tank appears offline, it’s usually related to how your system connects to your home internet. There are two setup types: TP-Link (Powerline adapter) and hardwired Ethernet.
TP-Link (Powerline adapter) setup
This is the most common installation and works like a Wi-Fi extender by sending signals over your home’s electrical wiring.
- The TP-Link plug must be inserted into a standard wall socket. It will not work if plugged into a USB socket or an extension lead.
- An Ethernet cable must run from the TP-Link plug to your internet router. This connection is essential for the system to function.
- Check the TP-Link plug’s lights:
- Top light (Power): Should be green
- Bottom light (Router connection): Should be green
- Middle light (Tank connection): Should be green
If the middle light is off:
- Turn off your Mixergy tank at the isolation switch
- Unplug and reconnect the TP-Link plug
- Turn the tank back on and allow the lights to update
If that doesn’t work:
- Press and hold the Pair button on the TP-Link until all lights flash
- Use a small screwdriver to press and hold the Pair button on the tank’s controller board (bottom left edge) until it flashes

Hardwired Ethernet setup
Some tanks are connected directly to your internet router with an Ethernet cable, without using TP-Link adapters.
- Check that an Ethernet cable runs from your router’s LAN port directly to the Mixergy tank
- If the cable is in place but the tank is still offline, the internal connection inside the tank may not be properly set up
Please contact your installer to check the internal wiring in the tank controller.
If they confirm the wiring is correct and the tank still won’t connect, call our Homeowners & Residents line on 01865 595 875.
