What your warranty covers
What's included in your warranty and how long cover lasts.
Your Mixergy product comes with a manufacturer warranty. The length of cover and the parts included depend on the product and when the cylinder was installed or, for a new home, the legal completion date.
Start by choosing the correct warranty version below. This guide explains the main differences; the full terms set out the conditions and exclusions that apply to a claim.
Start with the installation date
The cutoff between the two warranty versions is Jun 3, 2026. Use the Before option for an earlier installation or legal completion date, or On or after for that date onwards. The legal completion date is when ownership of a new home formally passed to you.
What do the newer terms cover?
Under the newer terms, eligible products have standard two-year cover for parts and labour. Register within the required 60-day period to activate the longer periods for the components listed below.
For earlier installations, use the older terms instead: they describe 25-year cylinder cover and three-year component cover, subject to their conditions, and exclude replacement labour. Do not apply the newer product periods to an older installation.
Longer cover under the newer terms
Mixergy X, Solar X and iHP X
Eligible stainless steel cylinders can receive extended cover of up to 25 years for the inner vessel. This is the part that holds the water. The sensing strip used to measure water level and temperature is also included in this period, subject to the terms.
The extended periods exclude labour. Controllers, electronics and ancillary parts remain on the standard two-year period under the newer terms.
Cube X
Eligible Cube X products can receive extended cover of up to five years for the part that holds the water, including the sensing strip.
iHP X and Cube X main working parts
Eligible main working parts can receive extended cover of up to five years. The full terms list the components included.
These periods are a summary. Check the warranty terms for your product and installation date before relying on the cover.
What must you do to keep the warranty valid?
Under the newer terms, an annual service must be carried out and documented. Earlier terms allow an eligible Care Plan as a route for evidencing the warranty’s annual monitoring requirement. Both versions still have installation, water-quality and normal-use conditions.
To protect your records:
- Keep the warranty registration confirmation.
- Keep installation and commissioning documents: these record how the installer set up and checked the tank.
- Keep annual service records where required.
- Use a suitably qualified person for servicing and repairs.
- Follow the product instructions.
- Do not modify, tamper with or misuse the product.
A Care Plan is an optional subscription with its own terms. The published plans apply to the older warranty version. Do not assume subscribing replaces a documented annual service required by the newer warranty.
What is not normally covered?
The warranty covers eligible corrosion, material defects and manufacturing faults in the components listed in the applicable terms. It does not cover every hot-water problem or every cost connected with a fault.
Exclusions can include:
- Incorrect installation or commissioning.
- Unauthorised changes or repairs.
- Misuse, neglect or frost damage.
- Unsuitable water conditions.
- Use outside the stated limits.
- Damage caused by other equipment or work outside Mixergy’s responsibility.
Some extended cover supplies a replacement component but does not pay for the labour needed to fit it. The terms also exclude certain additional costs, such as time off work or damage that is not directly covered.
Who should you contact about a possible claim?
If you rent, contact your landlord or housing provider first. They may hold the registration and service records and will normally arrange the repair.
If you own the home:
- Find the MX number (MX followed by six numbers) and model on the label on or near the controller at the front of the tank. Check the handover paperwork if the label is not safely accessible.
- Gather the installation date, registration confirmation and service records.
- Write down what has happened and when it started.
- Contact the installer first if the issue may relate to the installation.
- For help with a possible warranty claim, call Mixergy’s Homeowner & Resident line on 01865 595 875, weekdays 09:00–17:00. Have the records and a description or photo of the issue ready.
Do not remove covers or attempt electrical or plumbing repairs yourself.

Does a Care Plan cover everything?
No. A Care Plan has its own cover, conditions and responsibilities. It does not remove the warranty exclusions.

Common questions
Does the warranty cover labour?
Under the newer terms, standard two-year cover includes parts and labour. The extended periods exclude labour. The older terms also exclude replacement labour, so choose the correct version before relying on cover.
Does registering the warranty guarantee that a claim will be accepted?
No. Registration activates eligible extended cover, but the claim must still meet the conditions and exclusions.
Do I need an annual service?
The newer terms require a documented annual service. Earlier terms allow an eligible Care Plan route for the warranty evidence, while professional safety-valve checks remain recommended. Check your own version.
What if I have lost my service records?
Contact the company that serviced the tank and ask whether it can provide copies. Keep any replacement records with the installation documents.
Is the warranty transferred when the home is sold?
Under the newer terms, the warranty can transfer when the property is sold if the service history is kept and passed to the new owner. The older warranty is not transferable. Check which version applies.
