Address error during setup
How to add your address manually if the app can't find it.
The app uses the tank’s address to identify where it is installed and apply the correct local time to schedules. An error can appear when a new property, flat or renamed address is not yet listed. Try entering the address manually before changing ownership or resetting anything.
If the app specifically says the tank is already registered or linked to another account, go to step 3.
1. Enter the address manually
Choose Enter address manually and type the full property details. This is often needed for new developments, flats or recently renamed addresses. Do not select a nearby property or change the postcode simply to continue setup.
- Enter the building or flat number.
- Add the street and town.
- Check the postcode carefully.
- Use the address where the tank is installed.
2. Check the account address and tank address
The user’s contact address and the tank location can be different. Select the correct option during setup so schedules, timezone and connected services use the tank’s location.
3. Check whether the tank is already registered
Only treat this as an ownership problem if the app says the tank is already registered or linked to another account. A previous resident, developer or housing provider may still be connected.
DO NOT RESET OWNERSHIP WITHOUT CHECKING. A reset removes the existing account connection. Renters and residents in managed housing should contact their landlord or housing provider first.
4. Transfer ownership when appropriate
Residents who have confirmed that the previous account should be removed can follow the ownership-transfer guide, then restart registration. Keep the tank switched on and online.
5. Check the app and phone connection
Make sure your phone is connected to the internet and check for an update in your phone’s app store. Close the Mixergy app fully, reopen it and try the address again.
6. Record the exact message
Take a screenshot or copy the wording if the problem continues. Hide passwords, QR codes and private account information before sharing it.
Common questions
Can I choose a nearby address to finish setup?
No. Use the exact address where the tank is installed. Choosing a nearby property can give the tank the wrong location and timezone.
What if my new-build address or flat is not listed?
Choose Enter address manually. Include the building name or number, flat number, street, town and full postcode.
Which address should I use if my bills are sent somewhere else?
Use the installed address for the tank location. Your contact or correspondence address can be different.
Does an address error mean the tank is already registered?
Not by itself. Only follow the ownership route if the app specifically says the tank is already registered or linked to another account.
Will an address error stop the tank heating water?
No. The error affects app setup, not normal hot-water operation. Use the gauge to check the hot-water level and ask the tank to heat more.
What should I provide if I need help?
Share the full installed address and the exact error message or a screenshot. Hide passwords, QR codes and other private account information.
