Connect a Version 1 controller with the powerline adaptor (video)
Get a Version 1 controller online through the home's wiring with the TL-PA4010 adaptor.
This guide shows you how to get a Mixergy cylinder with a Version 1 controller online using the TL-PA4010 powerline adaptor supplied with it. The adaptor sends network data through the home’s electrical wiring and pairs with a receiver built into the controller, so you do not need an Ethernet cable at the cylinder.
What you need- The TL-PA4010 powerline adaptor, which goes at the router.
- The Version 1 controller, which has the receiver built in.
- The gauge on the front of the cylinder, to confirm the connection.
- Plug the powerline adaptor straight into a wall socket near the router. Do not use an extension lead, because it can interfere with the signal.
- Connect the adaptor to a free LAN port on the router using the Ethernet cable supplied.
- Check that the adaptor’s Power and Ethernet lights come on.
There is nothing to plug in, as the receiver is already inside the Version 1 controller.
Automatic pairingIn most homes the controller finds the adaptor and pairs on its own. When it does, the cylinder comes online within a few minutes and all three lights on the adaptor turn solid green.
Manual pairingIf the cylinder does not pair by itself, or you need to join an existing HomePlug AV network, follow these steps.
- Use a thin tool to press and hold the pair button on the controller for 1 to 2 seconds.
- Within 2 minutes, press the pair button on the powerline adaptor for 1 to 2 seconds.
- Wait for all three lights on the adaptor to turn solid green.
NOTE
This can take more than one go, so repeat steps 1 to 3 if the lights do not all turn green.
- The network light on the gauge turns blue.
- All three lights on the powerline adaptor are solid green.
- If the customer has set up the Mixergy app, it shows the cylinder as online.
Once connected, the cylinder talks to the Mixergy cloud and app, giving stable communication and full remote control.
