Check the CT clamp and interface
What to check when there's no clamp reading in the app.
Without a clamp reading, the cylinder can't see export, so solar diversion won't work. Use these checks for both Solar X (cable from the diverter) and iHP (cable from the controller).
SAFETY
Only carry out electrical or unvented hot water checks if you are competent to do so. Isolate the supply and prove it dead before you remove covers or touch wiring, and never ask a homeowner or resident to access live components.
For how to fit the clamp from scratch, see Fit a CT clamp on iHP X and Solar X (video).
Check each of these
- The Cat5/6 cable from the diverter (Solar X) or controller (iHP) to the meter position is connected at both ends, and its integrity has been tested.
- The CT interface is fitted within 300mm of the incoming supply.
- The CT interface is connected to the CT clamp using the two-core connector.
- The clamp is fully closed on the main incoming neutral with the arrow facing the grid, or on the main incoming live facing the electric meter.
Then
- Refit or reconnect the clamp and cable, then check Clamp Power in the app while the house imports or exports.
- If the clamp, interface or cable is damaged, contact Mixergy support with the MX number to arrange a replacement.
